Species Interactions and Nitrogen Use during Early Intercropping of Intermediate Wheatgrass with a White Clover Service Crop

چکیده
Perennial grain crops intercropped with legumes are expected to use nitrogen (N) resources efficiently. A pot experiment using the 15N isotope dilution method demonstrated interspecific competition and of N from soil N2 fixation in intermediate wheatgrass (Thinopyrum intermedium (Host) Barkworth & D.R. Dewey, IWG) white clover (Trifolium repens L., WC) intercrops at five species-relative frequencies four levels inorganic fertilizer a replacement series design. The proportion WC derived atmosphere increased 39.7% sole crop 70.9% when IWG, 10.1% IWG transferred WC. Intermediate showed high fitness maintained total dry matter production low relative frequencies. Decreasing IWG-relative frequency only accumulation WC, resulting amounts fixed. Increased fertilization acquired but decreased fixed by absorbed soil. Our study indicates that supply sufficient for intercrop biomass yields under appropriate fertility

The blind pursuit of high yields via increased fertilizer inputs increases the environmental costs. Relay intercropping has advantages for yield, but a strategy for N management is urgently required to decrease N inputs without yield loss in maize-soybean relay intercropping systems (IMS). Experiments were conducted with three levels of N and three planting patterns, and dry matter accumulation...

In vitro maturation (IVM) is emerging as a popular technology at the forefront of fertility treatment and preservation. However, standard in vitro culture conditions usually increase reactive oxygen species (ROS), which have been implicated as one of the major causes for reduced embryonic developmental competence. It is well-known that higher than physiological levels of ROS triggers granulosa ...

A reduction in herbicide use is one of modern agriculture’s main interests and several alternatives are being investigated with this objective, including intercropping. Gliricídia (Gliricidia sepium) mulch has no allelopathic effect on corn or beans but significantly decreased the population of some weed species. The objective of this study was to evaluate green ear and grain yield in corn cult...
